PROBLEM

Jetlag Africa is a company passionate about showcasing the incredible diversity of African tourism. With 147 World Heritage Sites, 54 unique countries, over 4000 distinct tribes, and every imaginable landscape, Africa embodies the true spirit of travel. 

  • No visual communication
  • No way to get new sign ups
  • No outgoing communication mediums

OUR SOLUTION

We embraced this vision, ensuring the branding authentically reflects the continent's richness – with a nod to the enchanting island of Mauritius, of course.

The challenge was not the logo, it was trying to understand Africa as someone not from Africa

Being an African design studio being asked to market Africa, we thought the task would be simple. We understand the "product" there for we can sell it to the market. Unfortunately as we dug deep it was not that easy. At some point it felt like, according to our creative director, "branding lots of different things as one thing". 

Much of the world doesn't realize how big Africa is. Geographically speaking, Portugal, Spain, France, Germany, Italy, all of Eastern Europe, India, United States, China, Japan and the United Kingdom could all fit INSIDE the continent. So many things to represent with a single logo. However, when it came down to it we leaned on the geography and built the brand from there. 

 

We wanted to depict 2 simple things: where and what - Africa and everywhere.
